Loop tour along the Saalach and Salzach Rivers Tauern Bike Path (Salzburg-Salzburg) |
This variation of the popular route takes you from Salzburg along the Saalach River to Kaprun, where you spend two nights. From Kaprun, travel by post-bus with your bikes into the Alps to Krimml, with the highest waterfalls in Europe, and then return by bike along the Salzach River, ultimately reaching Salzburg.
The Tauernradweg—Tauern Bike Path—is one of Europe's most popular touring routes yet never feels crowded. The route is almost entirely on an asphalt bike path or small side roads and runs through a deep, wide mountain valley in the Alps. Much of the route travels through farmland and small Alpine towns and villages.
The bicycle tour passes along the foothills of majestic mountains and the rivers Salzach and Saalach. Discover the numerous cultural sights and untouched nature of one of Austria´s most beautiful regions. Enjoy the flair of Salzburg and be impressed by the charm of its surroundings.
