Following the Inn River in Austria and Germany Inn Valley Bicycle Path |
|
|
Very few other rivers in Europe offer such a varied and exciting landscape as the River Inn. From the imposing mountains of Tyrol to the softer hills of Upper Bavaria to the green fields and meadows of Upper Austria. Enjoy the medieval villages, castles and fortresses along the Inn, famous for its emerald green waters. From the bike path you admire great castles and fortresses and pass through quaint villages.
The Inntal cycle path from Innsbruck to Sharding leads you through three regions: Tyrol, Bavaria, and Upper Austria. The Inntal is especially charming because of the difference between the beautiful mountain scenery of Tyrol and the slightly hilly countryside in Upper Austria and Bavaria. The cycle path runs directly along the river Inn and is a hot trip for all age groups.
Course features:
Through the route course or along the river valley of the Inn flat distances almost the whole way through, three stages with short steep ascents.
Lodging: family-owned hotels and pensions, typically for the region, of the 3-star-category
For clarification purposes we would like to point out that the "Inn Cycle Path" means the path which is available to cyclists along the river Inn. However, we expressly indicate that certain parts of this path are also used by outside traffic participants namely by motor vehicles as well as on foot. With respect to the paths marked on this site the Upper Austrian Tourist Board Services (operator of this tour) is liable neither for a particular state or a particular condition of the paths nor for their trafficability.
