If you would like to experience the region of South Dalmatia in an intense way, not wanting to do without Dubrovnik, you should decide on this sail and bike trip. On board the ship, you will get to know the sparsely populated part of Croatia including the islands of Sipan, Korcula, Lastovo and Peljesac. The highlight of the trip is the town centre of Dubrovnik that is listed on Unesco’s world heritage list with its imposing city wall and its narrow alleys.
Fitness (level 2-3):
The bike routes require a basic level of fitness, which you should have acquired by occasional or daily cycling. The routes can reach an altitude of 200 - 500 metres. The daily routes, of 30-60 km, cover hilly and mountainous terrain and can be completed without time constraints. You will also come across some longer and rather steep climbs, where you might have to push your bike. You can also choose to skip a bike-tour and spend a day sunbathing on the ship instead.
The roads are mostly asphalted and there is little traffic outside of holiday-periods. You can decide every day for yourself, whether you would like to cycle individually (i.e. by yourself), using the maps provided, or join one of the tour guides (or the individual participants).
Helmet use is mandatory on this tour, you are strongly encouraged to bring your own (well fitted) helmet.
Bringing Children:
We believe that only children in a good physical condition and of a minimum age of 10 and previous bicycle tour experience are able to master the bike-tours on their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bike is 1,40 m (4ft 6in.) Under Croatian Law, children age 16 and under must wear a helmet when cycling.
Guided Tour:
The tour will generally be guided in German language. One of the guides will translate into English for non-German-speaking participants.
Catering:
The cook on board is a member of the crew of four and prepares a hearty breakfast and two warm meals every day.
For this tour, please provide the dates of birth and nationalities of everyone in your party in the "Comments" section of our booking form.
Participants:
Minimum: 18 participants
Maximum: 30 participants

Day 1: (Sun) Dubrovnik and Sipan Island (approx. 10 km/6 miles)
Individual arrival to Dubrovnik. After embarkation on the motor yacht and after lunch the first short cruise will bring you to the island of Sipan, the largest of the Elefitian islands. A pleasant bike ride takes you in the afternoon past numerous luxury villas of the rich and noble of Dubrovnik, through green forests, fertile valleys and subtropical parks. Overnight stay in Sipan.
Day 2: (Mon) Mljet Island (approx. 30+12 km/19+7.5 miles)
In the morning, the ship takes you on a 2-hour crossing to the "honey island" of Mljet. Here, starting from the ferry harbor of Sobra, you bicycle to Pomena, where the ship already awaits you for lunch. 90% of Mljet island is covered by forest and it is thus one of the most densely wooded islands in the entire Mediterranean. Homer also mentions it in his Odyssey, making it the home of the nymph Calypso, who kept the famous hero here for seven years. A short bike trip in the afternoon takes you to Mljet National Park. In the 12th century, Benedictine monks founded a monastery here, in a fabulous location on a small island, which you can reach by a small excursion boat. Afterwards, your ship takes you to Korcula and the homonymous capital of the island, which fights with Venice over the honor of being the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo.
Day 3: (Tue) Lastovo Island (approx. 30 km/19 miles)
This island is one of the smallest inhabited islands in the Adriatic. Already the emperor Augustus appreciated its mild climate and in Roman times it was even named "Augusta Insula" after him. The islanders, little more than 1,000, live still today mainly off fishing the extremely rich waters, agriculture and viniculture. Here grows the yellow-golden white wine "Marastina", which is known well beyond Croatia's borders. After extensive exploration of the island, the ship takes you on a longish cruise to Vis, the next island.
Day 4: (Wed) Vis Island (approx. 30 km/19 miles)
Vis is the Croatian island located furthest from the mainland. 2,000 years ago it was already a Greek colony by the name of Issa. On account of its strategically important location, it was along with Lastovo a military zone prohibited to foreign tourists until 1995. After lunch, the ship takes you to the island of Hvar. The island capital by the same name is one of the high-points of every journey to Dalmatia. On a long walk you become acquainted with the beautiful medieval town center and the citadel rising high above it. You can leisurely end the day on a cozy wine bar.
Day 5: (Thu) Korcula Island (approx. 40 km/25 miles)
After breakfast, you leave the town of Korcula, cycling at first along an extensive coastal road. A short stretch of pushing your bike brings you to Pupnat and onto an impressive panorama road. This road runs above the bay of Pupnat which, glittering in all shades of blue, is one of the most favorite photo subjects of our guests. Then you bicycle on to Brna, where the bikes are put on board for the crossing to Lastovo. You spend this night in the quiet harbor of Lastovo.
Day 6: (Fri) Pelješac Peninsula (approx. 25 km/15 miles)
During breakfast on board, the ship takes us to the town of Orebi? on the Pelješac Peninsula. Pelješac is impressive even from a distance because of the Sv. Ilja mountain range rising almost 1000 m high out of the sea. The bike tour takes us into the hinterland, past Dalmatia's most famous vineyard, where the wonderful Plavac and Dingac wines are grown, to Trstenik. From here the ship takes us to Slano on the mainland, where we stay the night.
Day 7: (Sat) Mainland around Slano (approx. 20 km/12 miles)
After breakfast and a cruise, begins already the last bike trip of the journey. The town of Slano offers us either a beautiful but also somewhat strenuous tour into the hinterland or an easy promenade ride with time for swimming and relaxing until noon. After lunch, our floating abode makes fast in
Dubrovnik, so that we’ll have enough time to participate in the guided tour through this town listed as a World Heritage site and for a walk to the impressive city walls. After the Captain's dinner, we say goodbye to the crew and our tour guides.
8th day: (Sunday) Disembarkation
Disembarkation until 9 am and individual departure.

San Snova (cabins with shower/toilet)
The MS San Snova is a brand new wooden motor sailer to be launched in spring 2009 and made exclusively for Island hopping cruises. The ship, constructed entirely of oak, was built in three years by the Scherka family in their own carpentry workshop as family project. The ship, 31 m long and 8 m wide, meets the highest expectations in regard to comfort, elegance and style, combining romantic seafaring with modernity and functionalism. Young captain Tonci, his brother Josip and ever-cheerful Jelena pride themselves in the meticulous appearance of the ship and the cordiality on board. The San Snova has five double cabins (with French beds 200 x 160 cm) and five triple cabins above deck (with French beds 200 x 160 cm and bunk beds 200 x 80 cm) as well as two triple cabins and two four-bed-cabins below deck (all with single beds 200 x 90 cm). The fittings of the cabins as well as the saloon and the outside area are of superior quality with many carefully created details. The roomy sun deck offers comfortable mats for relaxing and lounge chairs are found on the aft deck. So let yourself be pampered end enjoy the “Dream of Dreams” (San Snova), as the Scherka family named their new ship!
