Armenia with its diverse and spectacular mountainous landscapes, variations in geological substrate terrain, climate, soil and water resources, its rich fauna and flora as well as remarkable cultural heritage provides excellent opportunities for mountain biking holidays in combination with cultural highlights.

Many outstanding historical events have taken place on this ancient land and probably the most important has been the adoption of Christianity in 301 AD thus making Armenia the first nation officially proclaiming Christianity as a state religion.

This tour starts in the capital city of Yerevin and goes along old routes and villages, highlighting area fortresses, monasteries, and along the Great Silk Road. 

It is exclusively designed and professionally executed by Nueva Vista. The tour is focused on discovery of nature of the country and on experiencing its diversified and beautiful landscapes outstandingly providing opportunities for adventurous biking.

Daily Program: Guided

Day 1: Yerevan 
Arrival. Overnight in Yerevan. 

Day 2: Aghveran - Aghveran (22 miles/35km)  
After breakfast short city tour by bus in Yerevan. then start cycling tour from Yerevan to Aghveran. Lunch on the way. Dinner in the hotel in Aghveran. 
Duration of cycling: 3-3.5 hours
Overnight in Aghveran.  

Day 3: Aghveran - Village Bjni – Hankavan – Lake Sevan (37 miles/60 km) 
After breakfast the route leads us through the old road in the direction of the villages of Bjni and Hankavan. When visiting the village of Bjni that is on the right bank of the River Hrazdan lies the ruins of the fortress of 9-10cc. which you will climb on foot. Accommodation and dinner in the hotel by lake Sevan. Lunch is planned on the road.
Elevation: 1750-2000m
Overnight at Lake Sevan.

Day 4:Lake Sevan - Dilijan (40 miles/65 km) 
After breakfast we cycle to the resort town of Dilijan. Visit unique Sevanavank monastery (9th c.) on the peninsula which used to be an island. Lunch on way in private house in Dilijan town. Next we cycle up to the monastery of Goshavank. Accommodation and dinner in the hotel in Dilijan or Gosh village. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner at hotel. 
Duration of cycling: 4.5-5 hours
Elevation: 2000m-1650m
Overnight in Gosh Village.  

Day 5: Gosh village - Lake Sevan (50 miles/80km)
After breakfast, the path takes us on a bicycle route in the direction of the hotel Tsapatagh. If you want to bike this route it is possible, but it is a bit difficult and a long distance cycling 80 km). Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner at hotel.
Duration of cycling: 5.5-6 hours. 
Elevation: 1650-2000m
Overnight at Lake Sevan. 

Day 6:Lake Sevan  
Leisure day. Overnight in Lake Sevan. 

Day 7: Lake Sevan - village Areguni - Martuni town (50 miles/80 km) 
After breakfast, we cycle from hotel Tsapatagh through the village Areguni in the direction of the city of Martuni. Mainly, the route leads through the main highway along the beach of Lake Sevan. Cars cross these roads very seldom as you will mainly cycle on dirt road. Picnic Lunch en route. Dinner at hotel.
Duration 5.5-6 hours
Elevation: 1980m-2100m
Overnight in Martuni.  

Day 8: Martuni town - Selim Pass - Eghegnadzor city (43 miles/70 km)
After breakfast we drive 5-6km on bus from Martuni. Visit the amazingly intact medieval Selim Caravanserai, an important trading center on the Great Silk Road. In the Middle Ages many buildings were built in Armenia. We continue the tour into the city of Eghegnadzor. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner at the hotel or in private houses in the city Eghegnadsor.
Cycling duration: 4.5-5 hours.
Elevation gain: 300m

Day 9: Eghegnadzor - Noravank Monastery - Garni village (50 miles/80km) 
After breakfast we drive from Eghegnadzor to visit the monastery of Noravank. After exploring the area we cycle to Garni. The route leads through the main highway, about half of the trail is advisable to go by bus. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner in Garni in private houses.
Cycling duration 5.5-6 hours
Elevation gain: 100m

Day 10: Garni Village - Monastery Geghard - Yerevan city, (37 miles/60 km)
In the village of Garni you will visit the Hellenic - pagan temple Garni (1 AD). Continue cycling to Geghard cave monastery (13th century). Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner in the hotel in Yerevan.
Duration 3.5-4 hours.
Elevation gain: 50m

Day 11 : Yerevan (free day)
Leisure day. You can visit museums in Yerevan (Matenadaran, Genocide). Farewell dinner at the hotel.
Overnight in Yerevan. 

Day 12: Yerevan.
Transfer to the airport. Departure.
