The trip starts in Omišalj on Krk Island and ends up in Pula, the secret capital of Istria with its impressive remains of the Roman past.
Day 1: Island Krk (39 miles/62 km; 3,300 ft/1,000 m altitude difference)
Individual arrival in Omišalj. After check in on board, we hop on our bikes in order to get to Klimno as our first 6 mile warm-up cycle tour. In this town, we have the opportunity to have lunch. Afterwards, the tour continues via the island ridge to Vrbnik – an old pirate nest situated on a rock high above the sea. Do not miss the perpetration of the world's second narrowest street. Final destination of today's stage will be the island capital Krk-City which we get to know better during an evening stroll.
Day 2: Island Krk and Rab (24 miles/38 km + 20 miles/32 km; 2,700 ft/800 m + 1,100 ft/30 m altitude difference)
The morning tour once again takes us out of the city Krk to Stara Baška. Then we return to the boat in the port. Our first boat passage will end in Rab. The Island of Rab counts to the sunniest places in Europe. During the medieval times the island capital Rab originated on the wedge-shaped headland- one of the highlights of your journey. The four famous bell towers emboss the picture of this wonderful romantic city. In the afternoon, we cycle a loop around Lopar in the north of the island. A walkabout through the town and a visit in one of the many cozy wine taverns will round off the day.
Day 3: Island Pag - Zadar (72 miles/115 km; 4,000 ft/1,200 m altitude difference)
Starting from Rab in the morning, the boat brings us to Lun on the Island of Pag. From here, today's route leads around the island Pag – well known for cheese and saline from the Roman times. Over the centuries, many brusque but appealing stone walls have been built in order to serve as a wind protector for the inhabitants. At midday, we have a break during which we have the opportunity to taste the famous local lamb on the spit. Later on, we move on to Zadar with its rich cultural and historical heritage. In the evening, the travel guide shows us the old town of Zadar with its world famous sea organ and the "greeting towards the sun."
Day 4: Island Dugi Otok (35 miles/56 km; 2,300 ft/700 m altitude difference)
The spice island Dugi Otok with its landscapes counts to a highlight of your tour: We cross the island on a fantastic panoramic road with light traffic. A consistently magic view point offers a terrific view to the deep blue sea and the surrounding islands. Our first destination is the light tower of Veli Rat in the north of Dugi Otok. From here we move back through a pine forest, passing the bay of Božava which is surrounded by agaves and tamarisks. The ship already awaits us to cross over to Mali Lošinj. For the night the close by dance bar is an insider tip!
Day 5: Island Lošinj and Cres (50 miles/80 km; 4,800 ft/1,450 m altitude difference)
After breakfast, we cycle around the picturesque port of Veli Lošinj. The small port with its many fisher boats is dominated by its mightful church of Saint Anton. Afterwards, the tour moves on speedy pace across the island Lošinj to Osor on the island Cres. The artist village was already populated during the roman time and is connected with the island Lošinj by a swinging bridge. Here we can learn how the Croatian currency obtained its name. The boat awaits us in the evening in Cres-City, the same named island capital which will be explored later on with your travel guide.
Day 6: Island Cres and Istria (36 miles/58 km; 1,700 ft/500 m altitude difference)
Starting from Cres we follow the street in northern direction until crossing the pass summit. If we are lucky we might see griffon vultures from the close by animal collection point. A speedy downhill cycle leads us to the ferry port of Porozina where we take a ferry to the Istria peninsula. Final destination of today's tour is the lively village Rabac, often said to be the pearl of the Kvarner Bay.
Day 7: Rabac – Pula (59 miles/95 km)
The last tour guides us through the hinterland to Pula – the secret capital of Istria. In the evening we have enough time to visit the impressing Roman heritage of the town. Especially the amphitheatre is well worth a visit. The last evening aboard takes place traditionally and includes the communal dinner and a last get-together in a cozy atmosphere with crew and tour guides.
Day 8: Disembarkation in Pula
After breakfast disembarkation until 9 a.m. and - if required – return transfer to the car parking in Omisalj.
May 6*; Jun 3; and Sep 16, 2012
* The May 6 departure will be conducted backwards from Pula to Omisalj. A detailed itinerary for this route is available upon request.

This trip has a moderate rating because Kvarner Bay is relatively mountainous. This tour is thus one of the more demanding in our program.
The bike routes require a basic level of fitness which you should have acquired by occasional or daily cycling. The daily routes of 24 to 40 miles cover hilly or mountainous terrain and can be completed without time constraints. The routes can reach an altitude of 650 to 1,300 meters. You will also come across some longer and rather steep climbs.
The tour guides will inform you about the course of the tour in due time. You can always choose to skip a bike tour and spend the time sunbathing onthe ship instead. You can also decide each day for yourself whether you would like to cycle individually using the maps provided or join one of the tour guides.
In general, we would advise that this holiday is only suitable for children with a lot of cycling experience, aged 10 years and older and in a good physical condition. Furthermore, we offer bicycle rental only for people of 5 ft. height or more. For smaller children, there are limited number of bicycle seats available (reservation required).
This tour is rated Moderate and is for cyclists in good physical condition.

A rich, cultural history and diverse, majestic landscape describes the country of Croatia. Calling their country “Our Beautiful Homeland”, the Croats offer a warm welcome to visitors who want to experience the wonders of Croatia. Flat plains along the Hungarian border, low mountains and highlands near the Adriatic coastline and over 1,000 islands explain why Croatia is one of few nations to have three distinct climate zones.
Diversity continues in the Croatian culture with four cultural circles thriving together: Western, Eastern and Central Europe, and Mediterranean. Each culture retains its unique customs, including lace-making in Lepoglava, bell ringers in the Kasta region and Ojkanje singing in the Dalmatia region. Cuisine varies in the coastal region that favors seafood specialties, olive oil and prosciutto compared to the continental region that favors meat products, freshwater fish and vegetables. Other highlights include Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace in Split, a Roman amphitheatre in Pula and the city of Dubrovnik, known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic."

By registering, you are offering us a binding travel contract. The contract is finalized through our confirmation. Any additional arrangements or changes to the set contract must be made in writing.

Our liability for damages other than personal injury is limited to three times the cost of the trip, provided the damages are neither intentional nor due to gross negligence. This limitation is still in effect if we are responsible for the damage due to the fault of a service provider. If we are solely procurers of foreign services, we are liable only for proper procurement, not for the services. We are liable for damage or loss of luggage up to the amount of 250 € only if the damage was caused by us and was indicated to us immediately. In the case of disproportionate effort, corrective action can be denied. For the period in which the services that have not been rendered according to contract, you can request a reduction in travel price after your return. The pre-condition for this is the immediate notification of our deficiencies or those of our tour guides, so that we have the opportunity to find a remedy. Tour guides are not authorized to recognize claims. Independent of a reduction in travel price, you can demand compensation due to non-compliance with the travel contract, unless we are not responsible for the defect.
Limitation of claim
Claims must be made in writing within one month of the contractual end of the trip.
