This journey takes you to the highlights along Europe's second largest river – the Danube: The impressive spectacle of nature of the Schlögener Donauschlinge ("Great Loop"), the fascinating landscape of the Wachau with its vineyards, castles and palaces, the untouched alluvial forests of the Danube National Park, as well as the picturesque Hungarian Danube bend alternating with thriving metropolises such as Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest.
The wide stream of the Danube flows like a silver belt through Budapest, separating the hilly Buda and the flat Pest. The important cupola of the basilica in Esztergom salutes from the distance. At the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, the Slovak capitol Bratislava invites with its charming Old Town to a vast stroll. What about a small flirt with Vienna, City of Waltz? A firework of sightseeing, small dreamy coffee bars and cozy wine taverns are expecting you.
You cycle in a small group guided by a local tour guide who's familiar with the region. Taste some Austrian delicacies: at an Upper Austrian cider tavern you'll try sweet and bitter cider; at a wine tavern in the world-famous Wachau region you savor a small variety of regional wine specialities. You experience the Slovakian capital Bratislava on an excursion train. During a guided tour by bike, you'll pass by numerous of the sights of Vienna – the city of Waltz. A visit to the basilica of Esztergom – Hungary's largest church – also an unforgettable experience.

Day 1: Passau
Arrival in the "Three River City" with boarding starting at 5 p.m. Passau attracts many with the world's greatest church organ at the Stephansdom, and with it's charming Old Town. Departure will be around 6 p.m., when we sail to the traditional Engelhartszell. Enjoy your first dinner on board and an evening sail to Engelhartszell.
Day 2: Engelhartszell – Hainburg (9-28 miles/15-44 km)
The day starts in Engelhartszell (the only Trappist monastery in Austria), where we head towards the "Great Loop" - one of the most beautiful and original sectors of the Danube. Your cycling will encounter small villages and cozy must-see taverns (relaxing 15-km-roundtrip for leisure cyclists available). You'll board again in the charming village Brandstatt. Then, you "sail into the night" towards Hainburg.
Day 3: Hainburg - Bratislava (11-21 miles/17-34 km)
The cycle tour takes you from the medieval town of Hainburg through Austria’s "vegetable garden" to the imposing Imperial Palace of Hof beautifully terraced gardens and idyllic manor farm. After crossing the green line you cycle along the former "Iron Curtain" towards the coronation city of Bratislava at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. During a bus tour and walkabout in the evening (optional) you can discover hidden alleys of Bratislava, places and all the sights of this ambitious metropolis. Leisure cyclists can shorten the route (11 miles/17 km).
Day 4: Budapest - roundtrip to Szentendre (25 miles/40 km)
In the morning, you enjoy the panoramic view of the Danube's gorgeous landscape on the Sundeck. The other route leads you directly to the bishop-town of Esztergom, with its gorgeous basilica – Hungary's largest Catholic Church – overlooking the village
Day 6: Vienna (rest day)
You should be sure to see the most famous places of interest like the Prater, the St. Stephens Cathedral and the Hofburg. You can take a city tour by bike or bus (optional, not included). The gorgeous boulevard "Ringstraβe" with the Burgtheater, the State Opera House and the town hall takes you back to the past. The evening ends impressively with a Waltz and Operetta concert and a glass of wine at a Viennese wine tavern or at the Imperial Palace (optional, not included).
Day 7: Wachau/Rossatz – Melk (29 miles/42 km)
Your last biking day is a special highlight! Amidst small dreamy villages, apricot trees, vineyards, castles, monasteries and ruins, this gentle hilly landscape enchants everybody. In Weißenkirchen (possibility for a wine-tasting – optional) you will find comfy wine taverns right along the bike path. You owe it to yourself to take a break! After a ceremonial gala dinner, lots of fun and entertainment can be experienced during a crew show.

The daily luggage transport subjects any luggage to a greater deal of "wear and tear". We recommend the use of sturdy bags. Only one piece of luggage per person with a maximum weight of 20 kg can be transported. We are not responsible for minimal damage on handles and corners of the bag, caused by daily usage. For substantial damage or loss, the maximum insurance amount is € 360,00 per person.
The transport of client's own bicycle is at their own risk. We are not responsible for eventual damage that may occur. We strongly recommend a baggage and bicycle insurance.
