Day 1: Boarding in Piraeus (Marina Zeas)
Individual journey to Athens airport and collective transfer to Marina Zeas, the yacht harbour of Piraeus, only 15 mi. from Athens airport. Check-in from 2 p.m. on the ship. Dinner on board.
Overnight stay in Piraeus.
Day 2: Kythnos Island (15 miles/25 km)
Early in the morning, the boat takes you to Kythnos Island, which was famous for its cheese and honey since ancient times. The first cycling tour, which starts in the harbour of Merichas and first leads us to the capital Chora, offers lots of scenic views to the coastline. Chora is an appealing village, situated on a high plateau. Its angular alleys are decorated with painted flowers and geometric patterns. From there, today’s cycle tour leads us to Driopida, a picturesque village. Afterwards, we return to Merichas, where we can spend the evening in one of the cozy tavernas.
Day 3: Seriphos Island (22 miles/35 km)
In the morning, the Panagiota takes us to Seriphos, a small island far from the tourist track, with deep valleys, countless bays and coves and lots of beautiful sandy beaches. From the harbour town of Livadi we cycle along a serpentine road to the main town of Seriphos, whose cube form houses nestle along a mountain ridge high above the sea. We continue on through untouched landscape to the Byzantine monastery of the Archangel Michael. We return to Livadi along a panoramic road on the East coast. In the afternoon the ship brings us to Siphnos, where we can relax at the beautiful beach. Overnight stay in Kamares on the island of Siphnos.
Day 4: Siphnos Island (12 miles/20 km)
The island of Siphnos, which is famous for its ceramic artwork, is only inhabited away from the coast, because its coast drops mainly steeply into the sea. The cycling tour begins in the harbour of Kamares. The route leads through a green, hilly terraced landscape to the central highlands with the island’s capital Kastro, which is a defensive settlement built on a steep cliff face and has been a listed and protected town since 1975. In the afternoon, the ship takes us to Syros, where we can round off the day in one of the numerous cafes on the spacious harbour promenade.
Day 5: Syros and Mykonos Island (19 miles/30 km)
The town of Ermoupolis on Syros is the capital town of the Cyclades and offers an unforgettable view upon arrival: The town which is built on two hills is different from the other Cycladic towns. Pastel coloured houses, many of which have classical facades dominant the townscape. We cycle along the coast of Syros which is full of bays and coves along the entire southern half of the island to the beautiful beach of Galissas and then past the convent of Saint Barbara back to Ermoupolis. In the afternoon we continue by boat to Mykonos, where the picturesque main town with its famous windmills and its white cube form houses invites visitors to stroll through it. With a bit of luck we may even see the mascot of Mykonos in the maze of laneways, the pelican Petros.
Day 6: Delos Island and Tinos Island (15 miles/25 km)
In the morning, we have the chance to visit the important ancient sites on the island of Delos, where, according to Greek mythology, the god Apollo and his twin sister Artemis were born. After lunch, we crossover to Tinos. There, we first visit the famous Evangelistria church in Tinos town. Today's bike tour takes us along a high road to the mountain village of Tarambados, a village full of walled dove towers with their filigree architecture, which represent remnants from Venetian times. Overnight stay in Tinos town.
Day 7: Kea Island (8 miles/12 km)
In the morning, the ship takes us to Kea. The starting point for the tour of Kea, the most westerly inhabited Cyclade island, is the wonderful natural harbour of Korissia. From here, we begin our cycle tour to the picturesque main town of Ioulis which is situated in the mountains and has the main attraction on the island: The smiling lion of Kea which was chiselled from stone in the 6th century B.C. Alternatively, there is also the option to make individually a short bike tour to the white beach of Otzias, where the Mediterranean will tempt you to a refreshing swim. In the afternoon last sail to Piraeus and overnight stay in Piraeus.
Day 8: Disembarkation
Guests disembark after breakfast on board followed by individual departure or guests may extend their stay in Athens by a week.
Changes
The Cyclades are relatively susceptible to wind. Normally, this results in only a minor modification of the tour route. However, due to strong wind conditions, the travel route may markedly differ from the planned route. Our substitute tour leads you into the Argosaronic Gulf, one of the most historic regions of Greece: We cross between the Greek mainland and the Peloponnesian and discover the islands of Egina, Poros, Hydra, Spetses and the Methana peninsula. A highlight of this journey is a visit to the ancient Epidauros with the best preserved theatre in Greece.

Our boats in Greece are wooden two-masted motor-powered sailing yachts. They are not luxury steamers, but motor-powered sailing yachts with their own charm. If, for whatever reason, one of the ships we chartered was to fall out of action, the tour operator will arrange a worthy replacement and will duly inform the participants about this change. You will find the name of your ship on your booking confirmation. Please be aware that the captains may have completed some additional alterations to their ship over the winter, so that the following descriptions may no longer be completely accurate.
Some of our boats are equipped with sails. They are an impressive adornment recalling old tradition. Sailing is a unique experience for many guests. If weather conditions are good, the captains may hoist the sails once a week. However, sailing is slow and in order to make quick progress the captain will usually rely on the engine.
Panagiota boat (shower/toilet in each cabin)
The Panagiota is a traditional motor-sailer, 98 ft. long, 23 ft. wide, built in 1990 and lovingly restored and modernized in 2001 to meet the requirements for cruising. 6 cabins below deck and 4 above are available for guests. All cabins are equipped with a French bed and a single bunk as well as a private shower/WC. The lower cabins each have a porthole for passive ventilation and an active ventilation system. The saloon is very spacious and perfect for meals and cozy get-togethers. In good weather conditions, the shaded afterdeck can be used for eating as well. There is also a sun-deck with comfortable mats for the guests. Captain Gerasimos is proud of his cuisine: "The guests are treated to always new Greek specialties that keep the menu varied."
Cabins
6 cabins below deck and 4 cabins above deck are at the guests' disposal. All cabins are air conditioned and most of them are equipped with a French bed, one single bed and private shower and toilet. The cabins are furnished in a comfortable yet practical manner and are equipped with one bunk bed on top of another, a small wardrobe, an air-conditioning unit and a porthole. They allow enough room to sleep in and to store the luggage in. Every cabin has its own shower/toilet. Due to the shape of the ship's hull the cabins vary in size. Price differentiation are only made with respect to "below deck" and "above deck" cabins. Cabin allotments are the responsibility of the tour operator and cannot be influenced by guests or tour guides on site. The beds will be made before you arrive. You should definitely bring your own towels for the beach (even though a small and large cabin towel will be issued to you). Please do not smoke in the cabins or the saloon of the ship.If you are sensitive to noise (especially in unfamiliar surroundings), we recommend the use of noise-reducing products, as wall insulation is not comparable to houses.
Air conditioning
Most of the ships have air conditioning in the saloon as well as in the cabins. Usually they will work while the generator is running (during taxi) or while connected to onshore power supply. Please be aware that your cabin door has to be closed in order to run the air conditioning. If there is no power supply available, during nights air- condition will stay switched off.
Cabin service
There is a daily cabin service on board which takes place during the bicycle tours. It includes the cleaning of floor and bath as well as the bedding (personal belongings should be removed). The towels will be changed once in the middle of the week. Should the group not be able to leave the ship due to environmental forces it may be that the cabin service does not apply.
Electricity and water on board
Electricity and water are of course provided on board but not in unlimited amounts. The water tanks are filled according to the number of people on board. There is enough water available for washing and showers even if the tanks cannot be refilled for several days. However, we presuppose that all passengers use this valuable resource sparingly. The ships also use a central heater for the showers. This also means that there is only enough warm water if people use the showers only for as long as it is really necessary (for example: turn off the water while soaping up).
The boat uses a 220 V generator which is not run constantly - amongst other reasons in order to keep the peace at night. The power supply on board is accessible with Euro-wall-sockets (as customary in Germany). Guests from UK and other countries with different socket systems are kindly requested to bring their own appropriate adaptors.
Shoes on board
Please bring a pair of shoes with you that you wear only on board in order to avoid damage to the teak wood decks. Your street shoes can be left in a shoe cupboard or basket at the entrance of the ship.
Sleeping on deck
Many guests feel that spending a night outside in the fresh air is a unique experience. There is enough space on the deck for that purpose. However you should bring your own sleeping bag and an insulated mat as it is not permitted to take the mattresses and sheets out of the cabins.
Catering on board
Meals included in the price of the tour consist of 2x full-board and 5x half- board. The food served on board is typically Mediterranean and higher nutritional demands of bikers are taken into account. Breakfast on board generally includes at least bread, butter, cheese, ham, coffee and tea. For lunch, the chef generally serves light fish dishes or vegetarian meals. For dinner, there are usually fish or meat dishes.
Beverages
The saloon on the ship is a restaurant, lounge, and bar all in one. Here you can always get cool drinks – with or without alcohol. Generally, the crew keeps track of your drinks in a list that is tallied up for payment at the end of the trip. An exception is mineral water which is paid as a flat rate (15 euros) per person per week. This includes all drinking water consumed on board and during the bike tours. Naturally, the drinks on board are slightly more expensive than in the supermarket around the corner but after all you are in a small "floating restaurant." Just as in every bar or restaurant it is not allowed to bring your own drinks on board.

We urgently discourage you from bringing your own bike because the transport from your hometown to Greece by airplane is both costly and risky. The bikes often get damaged during transport and the transfer taxis are often unwilling to transport bike boxes.
On arrival, you receive a 21-gear aluminum Island Hopping touring bicycle. These bicycles are especially made for us and the result of our long experience in cycling tourism. The men’s bicycles have a frame size of 56 cm or 60 cm, and the frames of the women’s bicycles are 46 cm and 52 cm.
All the bicycles have a fender, a kickstand, a rack, and a quick release seat. We provide a waterproof pannier from Ortlieb for everybody.
Alternative: Electronic Bike of the Swiss brand FLYER
Cycle hassle-free and climb mountains wihtout difficulty,enjoy unlimited nature and landscapes. Electronic Bikes make it possible. They are the declaration if independence for everybody who enjoys activity!
The i:SY-Flyer ECO, a relatively light model of 50 lbs., is a compact bike with a special low frame geometry for easy mounting and 20-inch wheels. The handlebar "Speedlifter Twist" is turnable, making the bike space-efficient for storage. This E-Bike model is equipped with an 8-gear-Shimano hub gearshift (Nexus) as well as Shimano V-brakes. A 10-amp battery along with an 8-amp back-up allow for unlimited riding pleasure. Our E-bikes are available for all persons with a body height of 4' 9" - 6' 2". For all participants bigger than 6' 2", we do not have any E-Bikes available.
On the Panagiota 3 E-Bikes are available and can be rented for a weekly fee of 70 euros. Due to the limited number of E-Bikes a reservation in good time is required.
Should you not want to be without your own saddle (without the post) or your own click pedal, please bring them with you and let your tour guide attach them to your rental bike.

Please keep in mind that you will have to pay compensation for any damage your cause, and that this is not covered by the rental fee.

The daily routes of 12 to 27 mi. cover hilly or mountainous terrain and can be completed without time constraints. The routes can reach an altitude of 650 to 1,640 ft. You will also come across some longer and rather steep climbs where pushing your bike is permitted. The roads are mostly asphalted and usually there is little traffic.
The tour guides will inform you about the course of the tour in due time. You can always choose to skip a bike tour and spend the time sunbathing on the ship instead. You can also decide each day for yourself whether you would like to cycle individually using the maps provided or join one of the tour guides.

Arriving in Athens
Travelling by plane is the fastest, cheapest and most comfortable way to get to Greece. There are scheduled flights as well as chartered flights to Athens, i.e. www.aegeanair.com, www.germanwings.de from Stuttgart or www.easyjet.de from Berlin. All flights are non-smoking flights. There is a time difference of 1 hour (Greece is an hour ahead of Central Europe).
From our experience there is a 50% chance that chartered planes will change their scheduled flight times. The respective travel agent will directly inform you of any such changes. Set flight times are only really available with scheduled flights and these are generally much more expensive.
If at all possible, please choose a return flight that does not depart until early or late afternoon, to ensure a stress-free return to your home country.
Transfers between the airport and the boat
We organize collective transfers from Athens airport to Marina Zeas, the yacht harbor of Piraeus. As long as those transfers take place on embarkation and disembarkation days they are free of charge for you. For all transfers a reservation is required.
At the airport, you will be received by a person carrying an "Islandhopping" panel or a panel with your name on. We generally organize small buses or taxis for the transfer, so you may incur a wait for guests from other destinations.
Boarding ship
You will come across one or two tour guides, wearing a blue polo with the sign "Inselhüpfen," standing by the ship. The tour begins officially with a first communal dinner on board.

From our experience there is a 50% chance that chartered planes will change their scheduled flight times. The respective travel agent will directly inform you of any such changes. Set flight times are only really available with scheduled flights and these are generally much more expensive.
If at all possible, please choose a return flight that does not depart until early or late afternoon, to ensure a stress-free return to your home country.
Transfers between the airport and the boat
We organize collective transfers from Athens airport to Marina Zeas, the yacht harbor of Piraeus. As long as those transfers take place on embarkation and disembarkation days they are free of charge for you. For all transfers a reservation is required.
At the airport, you will be received by a person carrying an "Islandhopping" panel or a panel with your name on. We generally organize small buses or taxis for the transfer, so you may incur a wait for guests from other destinations.
Boarding ship
You will come across one or two tour guides, wearing a blue polo with the sign "Inselhüpfen," standing by the ship. The tour begins officially with a first communal dinner on board.

These terms and conditions, which you agree to by booking your trip, govern the contractual relationship between you as traveler and us as tour operator. The terms and conditions supplement Paragraph 651 and those following in the German BGB (Buergerliches Gesetzbuch) that govern travel contract law. Please read all the following terms and conditions carefully.Trip CancellationIf the minimum number of participants required for a trip is not met (18 participants for bus and boat trips, unless otherwise noted), we reserve the right to cancel it. The decision about whether the trip will take place or not will be made as early as possible, three weeks before the beginning of the trip at the latest. In case of trip cancellation, all payments you have made will be fully refunded. There can be no additional claims made against us. As the tour operator, we have the right to cancel the tour if the trip is jeopardized, made difficult, or impaired due to an act of God.
Cancellation and Changes in Reservations by Customers
(Different conditions apply for flight bookings through Radurlaub Zeitreisen GmbH)You can withdraw from the travel contract up until the beginning of the trip. Your cancellation is valid when your written notification reaches us. If you cancel before the 60th day before the start of the trip, we will refund the amount paid so far, minus a cancellation handling fee.

If you cancel on the day of the trip or if you do not appear for the start of the trip, we charge the full trip price.
If you miss the start of the trip or are prevented from traveling due to incomplete travel documents, this will be considered as a cancellation.
Reservation changes are handled the same way as cancellations. For changing your reservation, we will charge 50 € changing fee for changes made 28 days or more before the beginning of the trip. Any later changes (if possible) will need to be handled as a cancellation and new registration. Cancellation and reservation change fees are due immediately.
Services
The foundation upon which the trip is organized is the description of the services, which is available in the brochure, in official pamphlets and on our website, and confirmed in your travel contract. Alterations that become necessary after the finalization of the contract and that are made in good faith are permitted if they are not substantial, and do not change the overall character of the trip. We assume no liability for information in the brochures of our partners or in our own brochure, even if we issued them.
Liability
We are liable within the scope of a merchant’s duty of care for diligent trip preparation, careful selection and supervision of participating agencies, accuracy of service and activity descriptions, and standard provision of the services agreed upon. Our liability for damages other than personal injury is limited to three times the cost of the trip, provided the damages are neither intentional nor due to gross negligence. This limitation is still in effect if we are responsible for the damage due to the fault of a service provider. If we are solely procurers of foreign services, we are liable only for proper procurement, not for the services.We are liable for damage or loss of luggage up to the amount of 250 € only if the damage was caused by us and was indicated to us immediately. Scratches on luggage, torn luggage handles, and damaged wheels are excluded from any liability. Upon delivery of luggage at the accommodation facilities, the liability is transferred according to § 701 BGB to the officer of the accommodations. Services that were not made use of will not be reimbursed.
Participation
A vacation that involves exercise and physical activity requires greater commitment than a conventional package tour. It is your duty to make certain that you are up to the physical challenges of such a trip. The pre-condition for a bike-tour is that you are able to handle a bicycle in street traffic and on unpaved paths under any weather conditions. If you rent a bike, it is your responsibility to check the condition of the bike, particularly the brakes. You bear sole responsibility for adhering to all legal regulations at home and abroad, particularly regulations about travel documents and cross-border trade. When traveling across the exterior borders of the EU, your luggage must remain unlocked, to facilitate passage through customs. If your baggage is searched, you will be notified about it upon arrival at the destination. If problems with the procurement of the services occur, you are required to help within the scope of legal regulations, in order to avoid potential damages or keep them at a minimum and report any complaints to us immediately.
Duty of Care
During the duration of the trip, you are liable for damage to or loss of bicycles and any equipment entrusted to you. For guided tours, this is only valid if you have separated yourself from the group, have disobeyed instructions from the tour guides, or caused the damage or loss intentionally, through negligence or gross negligence.
Warranty
You can demand redress if the trip services are not rendered according to the contract. This can be solved by us providing compensation of equal or greater value. In the case of disproportionate effort, corrective action can be denied. For the period in which the services that have not been rendered according to contract, you can request a reduction in travel price after your return. The pre-condition for this is the immediate notification of our deficiencies or those of our tour guides, so that we have the opportunity to find a remedy. Tour guides are not authorized to recognize claims. Independent of a reduction in travel price, you can demand compensation due to non-compliance with the travel contract, unless we are not responsible for the defect.
Limitation of claim
Claims must be made in writing within one month of the contractual end of the trip. The statute of limitation for claims based on the contract expires six months after the contractual end of the trip. The statute of limitations for all claims of civil offence expires three years after the end of the trip.
Privacy of Personal InformationAll personal information that you give us for the processing of the trip is protected against misuse under German personal data protection law.
Travel ProtectionWe urge you to consider effecting a travel cancellation cost insurance. Before the trip, please also find out about your medical and accident insurance and about luggage insurance or travel liability insurance, if necessary.
Severability Clause
The nullification of individual clauses in the travel contract or the travel terms does not result in the nullification of the entire contract or the travel terms.
