Your group will meet at Denpasar Airport, get set up with your bike for the tour, then transfer to the artistic community of Ubud, tucked away in the central foothills. You will have your first introduction to Balinese cusine at the Leke Laka Restaurant, where you also enjoy some unique Balinese entertainment.
Overnight in Ubud.
Day 2: Candi Dasa (47 miles/75 km)
Descend to the coast, you stop to explore Goa Gajah, the elephant cave and the rock carvings of Yeh Pulu, some of Bali's oldest. You will cycle along the coast to former fishing village of Candi Dasa, where you relax for the night. And take a sidetrip to visit Tenganan, a Bali Aga village, that still follows the traditional ways.
Overnight in Candi Dasa.
Day 3: Taman Unjung (31 miles/50 km)
It's a short day of cycling, with some moderate climbs. You'll start along quiet side roads traveling between the ocean and Mt Lempuyang. Visit Taman Ujung, one of Bali's renowned "water palaces" and Ahmed's salt farms before reaching our hotel perched on the hillside with dramatic views of the ocean. The waters around Amed are well known to divers, with a popular local dive to see the wreck of the USS Liberty.
Overnight in Amed.
Day 4: Pura Meduwe Karang (44 miles/71 km)
Today is a leisurely day cycling the north shore of Bali, with black sand beaches tucked away in quiet coves. You pend the night in Lovina, a beach town whose name means "I love Indonesia".
Overnight in Lovina.
Day 5: Mt Batur (53 miles/85 km)
The day starts with a shuttle to Lake Bratan, where you will start today's scenic ride avoiding a busy stretch of highway. Visiting the Munduk Waterfall first, you then head out by bike to explore the beautiful vistas of the Jati Luwih Rice Terraces, an area that gets featured in many photographers works. You will also explore the Ulan Danu Beratan Temple before settling in for the night at a resort sitting in the highlands surrounded by emerald green rice terraces.
Overnight in resort.
Day 6: Ubud (28 miles/46 km)
Our last ride is an easy descent back to Ubud, perhaps visiting Tegallalang renowned for its wood carving and Tirta Empul Temple, the Holy Spring Water Temple. For fans of the movie Bucket List, you will pass several small shops selling Kopi Luwak. Back in Ubud you have the afternoon free to explore this artist's town and shop for Balinese handcrafts and art. You will wind down an awesome ride through paradise with a great dinner at one of the tour guide's favorite restaurants.
