Sunshine and beautiful mountains await cyclists in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. You start in the town of Ronda and cycle to such villages as Grazalema and Zahara. The mountains halfway Malaga and Sevilla are a perfect backdrop for a wonderful bike week. It is a great way to test your conditioning in the early spring, while in the autumn you can conquer, just before winter sets in, some additional peaks. This is the region where the Spanish cycling teams train, and is an ideal place for a cycle tour!

Day 1: Ronda
Individual arrival to Ronda.
Day 2: Ronda, circular tour Cartajima/Igualeja (56 miles/90 km)
On the first touring day you cycle through Benaoján and El Colmenar, with three steep climbs, to the beautifully situated Gaucin. From the castle you may see Gibraltar! Here begins the natural park with holm oaks.
Overnight in Cartajima.
Day 3: Ronda – Gaucín (52-77 miles/83-123 km)
The wooded tour from Gaucín leads you to the Mediterranean coast on the newly Peñas Plancas (3,300 feet/1,010 m) and then through the beautiful white village of Casares back to Gaucín.

Day 4: Gaucín, roundtrip Jubrique/Casares (50 miles/80 km)
You exchange the park Alcornocales for the higher in the mountains located Grazalema (3,000 feet/900 m). Through a rolling landscape you continue and will have views on the Mediterranean Sea and the Moroccan Rif mountains!

Day 5: Gaucín – Grazalema with Col del Boyar (67-97 miles/107-155 km)
You descend to 660 feet (200 m) where, after some smaller mountains have been conquered, you will climb Col del Boyar (3,600 feet/1,111 m). The last kilometers you will descend to Grazalema, one of the most beautiful white villages of Andalusia. The hotel with garden and swimming pool is a wonderful place to relax and ideally situated for a day trip.

Day 6: Grazalema, roundtrip Ubrique/Zahara with Puerto de las Palomas (54-81 miles/87-130 km)
This tour ends with one of the most beautiful mountains of Spain (known from the round of Spain!), The Puerto de las Palomas. The climb begins north of the village of Zahara (984 feet/300 m) and ends at 3,900 feet (1,189 m). Many professional cyclist have climbed this pass. The last stage is the best and will lead you through a number of virulent climbs to the hidden village Serrato. Through a very steep climb (10-14%) you'll discover a wooded landscape with magnificent vistas. North of the park Sierra de las Nievas, in the valley, El Burgo is located. You climb from the valley, towards the Puerto del Viento (3,500 feet/1,072 m) on a fantastic road full of hairpin bends. En route, you have spectacular views of the latter Sierra.

Day 7: Grazalema – Ronda with Col del Viento (69-79 miles/110-126 km)
The last day of the tour goes through some of the Pueblos Blancos (white villages) in the Serranía Ronda mountains and after a long climbing part, the route can be characterized by short but strong climbs and descents.

The itinerary mainly follows very quiet, good asphalt roads, and many cols have to be climbed. The average gradients are between 4% and 14%. In terms of length, most do not exceed 15 miles (24 km) of continuous climbing.

Charge for Changes
If after booking a trip, you wish to make changes, bear in mind that you can be billed a surcharge to cover the costs of changes, This amounts to € 14,-. According to the ANVR terms and conditions, changes can generally be made up to 28 days prior to the departure date.
Cancellation conditions according to BikeToursDirect
The conditions of all tours act on the Dutch jurisdiction. Any liability of the tour operator (the transporter) is limited to the amounts of the concerned insurance-company(s) of the tour operator / the transporter is (are) willing to pay, taken into account the maximum overages. The parties agree that the Dutch law applies to this agreement. Any conflicts arising out of this contract will be brought solely before a competent judge in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Cycle Tours Holland Travel Agreement
A travel agreement is reached with the traveler's acceptance of our offer. Acceptance can take place either directly through us or via the intermediary service of a booking office. As soon as you make a reservation, your accommodations will be arranged. When these arrangements have been settled, you'll receive word from us and thereupon, the invoice will be sent.
A confirmation of your booking together with the invoice will be sent within 72 hours. Travel documents will be sent via e-mail 3 weeks prior to departure. When booking more than 2 months before departure, payment in terms is possible. Deposit is 15% of the total amount. Second payment needs to be done at least 6 weeks prior to departure.

Cycletours is a member of the General Dutch Association of Tour operators (ANVR). This association publishes the ANVR-travel condition that includes the rights and duties of both the tour operator and the participant. These conditions are available upon request.
