Day 1: Bodrum/Turkey (Boarding)
Individual arrival at Izmir or Bodrum Airport and transfer to the ship in Bodrum. After checking in on board the gulet, we have the opportunity to visit the picturesque port town of Bodrum. Dinner on board.
Day 2: Island of Kos (19 miles/30 km)
Before lunch, we cross over to Kos. The first cycle trip begins here and leads us through green fields to Tingaki Beach or to the Embros therm, where we have the opportunity to have our first swim in the Aegean. We spend the evening in Kos, the lively capital of the island. On a tour through the town, we come with each step across traces of the island's great past. The Roman forum, the fortress of the Knights of St. John, and the mosques from the time when Kos was part of the Ottoman empire stand shoulder to shoulder. We can end the evening relaxing in one of the town's numerous bars and cafes.
Day 3: Island of Leros (19 miles/30 km)
In the morning we have a longer cruise to Leros. Leros is green, varied and always offers new and surprising views into small harbours. Our cycle trip leads us to the fort of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem in Agia Marina and into the small alleys of the town. After an espresso break in the idyllic harbour of the town we cycle on to the seaside chapel of Agios Isidoros, in which many couples get married. In the afternoon we cross over to the island of Patmos- its snow white upper town and its towering monastery can be seen form afar already. Dinner takes place on board.
Day 4: Island of Patmos and Lipsi (9 miles/15 km)
On a short panoramic cycle route we visit Patmos and its grotto. It is said that St. John received the Apocalypse during his captivity here. The world famous monastery of St. John of Chora is found in a village with numerous white alleys, 34 churches and chapels radiating heavenly peace. After a visit we cycle past a wonderful beach until we reach the port. We meet the boat for lunch and cruise on to Lipsi. In the late afternoon we explore Lipsi by bike, taking us to beautiful quiet beaches that invite us for a swim break. Do not miss to visit the legendary pastry shop at the port!
Day 5: Island of Kalymnos (25 miles/39 km)
On a short but panoramic cycle route, we visit the grotto, in which St. John during his banishment saw the apocalypse. The world famous St. John monastery of Hora, a village, which has a paradise-like peaceful atmosphere with its numerous white laneways and 33 churches and chapels, is the next stop on our cycle tour. From there, we cycle along a wonderful beach inviting us for a bathing stop. Afterwards, we return to the port where the ship awaits us to cruise over to Leros.
Day 6: Island of Kos (31 miles/50 km)
The boat takes us to Mastichari of Kos. Today our daily tour takes us through varied landscapes, mostly along the coast and partly through the impressive mountains of Kos to the same named island’s capital. Along the way we stop for a longer lunch break in the old Greek mountain village of Zia. After dinner on board you may explore the bustling town of Kos.
Day 7: Island of Kos (19 miles/30 km)
In the morning, we take a cycle trip to the world-famous archaeological excavation site of the Asclipion, where Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, practiced. From here, the bike ride leads us on to Zia, an old Greek mountain village, which tempts us to stay with its numerous, cozy taverns. Later on, our boat takes us back to Bodrum, where we can stroll again through the lively old town. The last evening aboard takes place traditionally and includes the communal dinner and a last get-together in a cozy atmosphere with crew and tour guides.
Day 8: Disembarkation and departure
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport or extension of your holiday in the Turkish or Greek Aegean sea.

Your tour price includes the use of an Island Hopping rental bike. We urgently discourage you from bringing your own bike because the transport from your hometown to Turkey by airplane is both costly and risky. The bikes often get damaged during transport and the transfer taxis are often unwilling to transport bike boxes.
On arrival, you receive a 24-speed Island Hopping Mountain Bike. These bicycles are especially made for us and the result of our long experience in cycling tourism. The bicycles are available with different frames for men and women. If there should not be enough Island Hopping mountain bikes in the respective frame heights on our ship, we will provide a different brand of mountain bikes. These bikes will be of the same or higher quality as our Island Hopping mountain bikes.

This region is relatively mountainous. This tour is thus one of the more demanding in our program. The bike routes require a basic level of fitness which you should have acquired by occasional or daily cycling. The daily routes of 12 to 27 mi. cover hilly or mountainous terrain and can be completed without time constraints. The routes can reach an altitude of 650 to 1,400 ft. You will also come across some longer and rather steep climbs where pushing your bike is permitted. The roads are mostly asphalted and usually there is little traffic.
The tour guides will inform you about the course of the tour in due time. You can always choose to skip a bike tour and spend the time sunbathing on the ship instead. You can also decide each day for yourself whether you would like to cycle individually using the maps provided or join one of the tourguides.
We generally believe that only children with a lot of cycling experience and in a good physical condition aged 10 years and older are able to master the bike tours with their own. Furthermore, we offer bicycle rental only for people of 5 ft height or more. For smaller children, bicycle seats are limited available (reservation required).
This tour is rated Moderate and is for cyclists in good physical condition.

Straddling Asia and Europe, Turkey is a fascinating and a welcoming blend of East and West. Istanbul represents the appeal of Turkey – the melding of ancient history with 21st-century amenities and attractions. Many go to Turkey to see the ancient ruins – testaments to Turkey's diverse and storied history and the influence of Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires. Religious iconography and art are plentiful in the country’s many stunning mosques, synagogues, and churches. Turkish architecture sets an exotic eastern tone with its many domes and vibrant mosaics, and its markets are full of colorful treasures waiting to be discovered.
Turkey's substantial coastlines along the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Black Seas give its beaches a Riviera-like ambiance. The crystal blue waters of Turkish beaches are reminiscent of neighboring Greece, but the port towns and seaside villages have a distinctly Turkish flavor.

Sitting at the meeting point of Europe, Asia, and Africa is the Greek peninsula. Bordered by the Aegean, Ionian and Mediterranean Seas, Greece has a uniquely rich history etched in every corner of the country. Archaeological remnants of the ancient Greek civilization include Delphi's Temple of Apollo, the Acropolis in Athens with its renowned Parthenon Temple and Olympia's Temple of Zeus, where the Olympic games were held every four years. Trips to these sites also provide an opportunity to visit Greece’s 200 state museums and 107 private museums. Most notable is the Archaeological Museum of Olympia and the new Acropolis Museum that houses over 4,000 finds from the Acropolis.
A trip to Greece is not complete without visiting one of its 6,000 islands, of which only 227 are inhabited. The Greek isles share an ideal climate with crystal clear waters, but feature highly diverse coastal areas ranging from sandy and rocky beaches to sheltered coves to coastal wetlands. The outstanding cuisine of Greece is always a highlight as well.
