Your dynamic day tour kicks off with a visit to the historical village of Monchique which dates back to the Roman period and is renowned for its natural watersprings. Regarded fondly as one of the most peaceful villages in the Algarve, Monchique is famous not only for the healing powers of its ‘magical’ waters, but also for its legacy as a honey and medronho producing town.
Cycle along the scenic roads surrounding Monchique before you hit the challenging but spectacular climb up Foia, the highest peak in south Portugal. It’s physically demanding but wholly worth it for the phenomenal vistas atop this awe-inspiring mountain - here you’ll savor panoramic views over the ocean to the south, the rural landscapes to the north, and even the city of Portimao in the distance.
